Visa for Tourists Canadian Tourists visiting Sri Lanka will be given visas free of charge valid up to 30 days at the port of entry. They should have valid Passports, return air tickets and funds for the stay at the rate of C$30.00 per day, per person. Those wishing to stay longer should either obtain a prior visa from this High Commission or, having entered Sri Lanka with free 30 day visa at the airport, get it extended on payment of the fee of C$75.00 at the Department of Immigration and Emigration, Colombo. Other nationals wishing to enter Sri Lanka as tourists should contact this Mission for necessary information. Visas for any other purpose Canadian Citizens who wish to enter Sri Lanka for any other purpose, such as business, attending a conference, education, employment etc. should obtain a prior visa valid for 30 days from this Mission. They are requested to submit: (a) A letter of introduction from the employer / local sponsor as proof of purpose of visit, or a letter from the Sri Lankan counterpart. (b) Duly filled Application Form which can be obtained from this Mission (Please write your full name, address and telephone number under item 8). (c) A valid Passport. (d) Money Order or Certified Cheque for C$75.00 drawn in favour of the Sri Lanka High Commission (no cash will be accepted). (e) Two passport size photographs. If you wish to receive your Passport back by registered mail or courier, an additional C$5.00 or C$15.00 respectively, is needed.
